Movie project

Throughout the filming of this movie we met up several times to discuss our plans. We have completed all the scenes. The scenes we changed up were a couple of scenes that didn't fit well. Those scenes we decided we're not useful to the plot of the movie. As stated we decided to not use the flooding to our advantage. The flooding and evaporated over the course of a week. Our final task has been a challenge throughout. We were tested with this movie compared to our other projects. This movie has was difficult to film we had many set backs. The movie has become a memory of my life. The movie has meant a lot to me because of the dog since my older dog passed away. This movie represented how I felt about getting the dog. It was very truthful and very alike to what I said about my parents.  I felt as if we were replacing the old dog. Therefore the movie means a lot to me because I talked about dialogue in the movie how I felt replacing  our older dog.  We had good dialogue in s

The editing is here. Its done!!  We finally finished filming everything. We were able to get everything done on the Thursday afternoon. My partner and I went through all the videos that we took right after we finished filming. We did this to make sure we got enough angles, and clear shots that were needed to make our film the best. Of course we have now have plenty of clips that we have to pick through. I deleted the extra footages and cropped the unnecessary stuff out that we didn't need. Since I was in the sequence, our friend filmed it, we decided we should edit it together. I uploaded everything onto iMovie in order that way it was easier to edit it all together, allowing it to mesh well.  Before any cutting or transitions were done it was a total of 4 minutes long. Once I cut down the scenes and add transition, I got it down to 3 minutes. However, the film needs to be no more than 2 minutes, and still have the specific "suspense" ending. I am going to go back and re

The intro of the film is finally done. I managed to finish editing and finalizing the video during these last couple of days. Putting it all on iMovie made it about 3 minutes long, unedited. First round of cutting unnecessary clips brought it to 2:30. Then I did some speeding up, cutting, and transitioning. I got it to a little over 2 minutes. So I just had to go back and curt a few not as needed clips. I proceeded to think of how to make the title come up and transition into it. I managed to figure out a way and it came out so good. Both me and my partner thought it was best to put the title at the very beginning, instead of following the traditionally way of it being at the end,  This made it exactly 2 minutes.  We filmed many clips. It was a little difficult on having to figure where things should be cut at. In addition, as well as having to decide which things have to get taken out and don't make it to the film. Now all I had to do was figure out how to line all the clips up

Production Blog: Sound

Image
Sounds are important in a film. Sounds in a film can enhance the quality of any film. Why are sounds important in a film? Sounds are important because it can immerse the audience in our film. Most of our sound will be diegetic sound  coming straight from the natural dialogue and sounds. Diegetic sound is always important in films helps audience understand what is happening on screen. Diegetic sound also shows the viewer the real events that are occurring during the film. The audience also connects with visuals for example if someone was walking on snow the audience would see that and expect next to come the sounds " crunch" " crunch". The audience ant to relate their sense to the film such as visual and hearing. Diegetic sound is generated from any film and is generated while filming. Since most of our sound is diegetic it will help bring the viewers in and keep them invested in our film. We will have a song at the beginning of our film because it can help set

Production Blog: Camrea Angles

Image
We think camera angles are very important in a film. We think they are important because it can make a movie better with several different camera angles. Camera angles are important to enhance reactions, theme and the over all mood of a film. When a camera angle displays a reaction it is usually a close up or a over the shoulder shot. We plan to use many over the shoulder shots and medium close ups. We want to use medium close ups during our dialogue to display our emotions and facial expressions. For our over the shoulder shots we would like to have us both in a single shot over the shoulder. For example we will likely have a scene where we get into the car for a over the shoulder shot of us talking. Some other cameras angles we would like to incorporate would be a high angle to show the dog in the pool. Since they are important to our film we want to use as many as we can. Not only do we want to ensure our knowledge for camera angles but we also know how important they are to a

Production Blog: New Plans What's Next?

We have decided on new plans for our movie. So far, this journey has been interesting. Considering our rough weather and setbacks we have had we are doing decently well.  Throughout or filming process we have learned even more than we have throughout our other projects combined. We thought those would be difficult, but this has been the real challenge.  Controlling the dog and teaching her new tricks has been fairly hard during the making of some scenes the dog would not respond. We have recorded few clips of the inside of the house with the dog. We have set a home video style on our movie making. Only some scenes will be a home video style as we want to include more of an actual movie. So far, the scene's we have filmed were the dog ripping apart a stuffed animal. As well as the dog running rampant throughout the house. Since it has been raining it has prevented from my partner to be able to get to my house or the local park. This id due to all the flooding recently. We may

We have had torrential rain for the last two days. This rain has flooded streets houses and overflowing canals. We may decide to change up our film slightly to adapt to the flooding. Some ideas we have are we find a dog in flood, and we decide to rescue it. Other ideas consist of a hurricane came and we do our best to clean up and we find a dog that has a collar, but no name or address and we go on a mission to take the dog home. We may also stick to our original plan because the flooding may die down. The flood has also created several other problems as my and my group mate are unable to link up. Therefore, I have started filming few scenes containing only the dog. I have filmed scenes for all of our ideas which we can scrap later on. Just wanted a quick head start on our filming as more rain will follow. Since more rain will follow the park, we had planned on filming at will be completely flooded for the next few days. Currently I am out of a car because of the flooding this li

Production Blog: What's Next?

What's next? Currently we are deciding what camrea angels and shots we will produce during our movie. Camrea shots and angles are always a easy way to make a movie better. Now that we have a base of dialogue and idea for our film we are now deciding camrea angles and shots we want to incorporate. First of all we definitely want to use a close up shot of the dogs face. Next we want to use an over the shoulder shot to show the dog during one of the first scenes were the people pick it up. In the scenes containing the pool we want to use a high angle shot to show the whole pool. Throughout our scenes we will try all shorts of angles and shots to make sure we get the right one that we both like. It is important we both like it to make our movie better. Overall so far we have a accurate idea of what will happen during our movie. Although some set backs may be the weather recently it has been extremely stormy. If it rains we may continue to shoot the outside shots. Unless it is lig

Production Blog : Plans

Image
Our final plans for our movie consist of several parts. Those parts are mainly where we will film, other locations, subject of film, and dialogue for our movie. The main places we will film are the park,  because of the open area and dog friendly. We will also film at my house because of the open back yard. Another reason we will film at my house is the mess the dog has already and constantly creating a mess. Therefore the movie will already have a clean up part apart of my daily life. This movie is special to me because it has been easy to plan. This movie has also been sentimental since my other dog passed away not long ago. And I have felt the same way when she was a puppy with this new puppy as well. I hated the fact of cleaning up and taking care of it for it only to torment my life. But I have learned these are the memories that are valuable to me. Back to our plans, we will buy some toys for the dog to rip apart and create a mess. Some toys we will buy are ones filled

Production Blog: Planning, Brainstorming

Image
Over our spring break me and my group mate have been brain storming. Our thoughts on this project as a whole are that we will perform well. Our plans for our this so far over the course of spring break we brain stormed. Our brain storming conclusions consisted of our plans for our project. At the start of spring break, we met up and brain stormed ideas for our movie. To begin with we started asking each other where will we film? We decided to film at my house because that's where the dog is as well as the back round ideas. For following scenes, we just decided to film outside of my house in the back yard and front. Following we planned out when he was going to arrive and what camera we are using. My group mate also educated me on editing software. Other ideas we had were about locations were the park close to my house. The park close to my house has a open patch of land where we can film. For other filming locations we haven't decided because my partner also has availabil

My last projects were very fun I am excited to start this one with my group.  Our previous projects have been helpful to us filming, editing, and creating this movie. Based on our other projects me and my group will preform well together again and will create a good movie. My group mate has good editing skills that allows us to put words on walls, clouds, sky, or any background. My group mate has several skills that will allow this project to be better. He has several editing applications that makes him a great editor that allows us to reform well. He works with adobe premier and adobe after affects. Things he needs to have clips such as transitions, clip duration, text as well as special effects. Our movie genre is comedy but a heartfelt one. Comedy genre can bring happiness and fun to any audience. Happiness to an audience can always bring in more attention as well as a well preformed short film or movie. I am happy and positive with my groups capability to film and complete th
