Short film research: Other side of the box, Thriller Genre

The opening scene of the short film Other Side of the Box starts with a stormy, gloomy night. A man with a scared look on his face is driving all around the city. In the rearview mirror, we catch views of a shadowy figure who looks to be following him. After pulling up to an empty warehouse, the man quickly enters and locks the door. The figure seems to have already found him despite his attempt to find a place to hide. When he hears footsteps he turns and sees the dark figure waiting in the doorway. With a smile on his face the figure approaches and stands above him as he fell and hot the ground while trying to run. He begs for his life yet the figure lungers forward pulling out a knife. A struggle broke out and he attempted to fight back. When it looks like all hope is lost a group with guns pulls up and storms the building. The man is saved and the figure is captured. Genre Choice

  There is many different genres of films that my group and I reviewed and looked over. The genres we went over was action, comedy, and mystery. Understanding what these genres are is very important to the development of the recreational movie that we re subjected to create. After gathering information about action we concluded that the production to make one is very action packed as it is in the title. Camera angles, sounds, and transitions is very intense in these films. To mimic this, it will require extra planning ahead for what props, sounds, and plans for post development regarding the editing process. Quick transitions, loud bangs and claps tell the audience that it is indeed an action movie. My group and I rather strayed away from this genre as it did not fit our theme.
